Affiliate programs offer the opportunity for individuals to start an Internet business with little or no cash investment. They work by using web sites as a marketing tool to drive new customers to a business through a link placed on your page normally in form of a banner.

Some businesses pay affiliates a percentage, while others pay a fixed commission for each purchase a customer makes.

It is possible to run an affiliate business at little or no cost, plus some time and creative effort. In most cases, you will need a web site, e-mail address and Internet accesses.

One thing you need to consider before investing your time into affiliate programs is that while these sites do their job well, YOU too need to do YOUR job well!
